World Mental Health Day

Date: 10th October 2025

Today we are marking World Mental Health Day 🧠🩺

Mental Health is important no matter who you are, and like many things, can be greatly effected by a Brain Injury.

Here at Headway Kent we work with our members in several keyways to help fortify their mental health.

We have a counselling service, supporting our members and their families directly. Our counsellors combine their knowledge of brain injury with their heart for people and listening skills.

We facilitate Peer to Peer support groups, helping our members build each other up. As no matter how knowledgeable we are, nobody can understand what it's like to live with a brain injury except another survivor.
Being able to provide that space for our members to help each other is incredibly rewarding, and some lifelong connections have been made at headway.

And of course we cover it in our regular sessions, with our facilitators able to deliver a wide range of sessions focusing on mental health among the many other things we cover.

Using a combination of our own knowledge and experiences, online resources, partnering with other organisations, and even using clips from Inside Out, all to help remove the stigma around mental health, and help our members grow.
