Raising Brain Injury Awareness at Bluewater Shopping Centre

Date: 24th September 2025

Our team spent the day at Bluewater Shopping Centre for a drop in and brain injury awareness day, connecting with shoppers, families, and professionals. Hosted by Jazz and Sharon, the stand was open all day, with an informal drop-in session in the morning where visitors could ask questions, find resources, and learn more about brain injury support services available in the surrounding area.

Why Brain Injury Awareness Is So Important

Brain injury can affect anyone at any stage of life, often without warning. Its impact can include physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes that affect both individuals and their families. By holding community engagement events like this, we aim to:

  • Increase public understanding of brain injury and its effects
  • Share information about rehabilitation, social opportunities, and emotional support
  • Connect people to local brain injury services early
  • Encourage professionals to recognise and respond to brain injury needs

Building Stronger Community Connections

Meeting so many people in person gave us a chance to have meaningful conversations about living with brain injury. Visitors learned about the tailored support we provide — from one-to-one guidance to group sessions that promote confidence and independence.

These events are an essential part of our mission to ensure no one faces brain injury alone. We are committed to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and giving individuals and families the tools they need to rebuild their lives.
