This morning, our Canterbury hub was delighted to welcome Leah from One You Kent, who delivered an engaging and informative talk on healthy lifestyle choices.
During the session, Leah introduced our community to the free health and wellbeing services available through One You Kent, covering important topics such as the Eatwell Guide, hydration, and nutrition. We even learned a fun fact – in the UK, potatoes are our biggest source of Vitamin C (perhaps thanks to all those Sunday roasts and fish and chips!).
For individuals recovering from a brain injury, making healthier lifestyle choices can have a powerful impact on recovery and overall wellbeing. Good nutrition supports brain function, improves energy levels, and helps manage fatigue – a common challenge after brain injury. Leah also highlighted that alcohol can affect someone with a brain injury up to three times more than before, making moderation or abstaining particularly important.
Thank you, Leah, for an insightful and inspiring morning. Our team and members left feeling motivated to make small, positive changes that can lead to better health outcomes.
